  3. Lab Exercises: The objective of the lab exercises is to provide hands-on experience to participants of best-of-class techniques for maximizing your BI resources. (total lab time is 3.5 hours)

    • Lab Exercise #1: Using Intelligent Miner and SAS Enterprise Miner
      Create a SAS mining model, export/import that model in PMML to IBM Intelligent Miner and implement the model using SQL in DB2. Create an on-demand data mining application that mines the data warehouse, directly.

    • Lab Exercise #2: Using ESRI Business Analyzer
      Load real internet sales of over 150,000 clients and analyze those sale using information enhancement and geospatial analysis.

    • Lab Exercise #3: Using ESRI Spatial Extender and IBM DB2
      Create and execute SQL statements within a relational database in order to perform spatial analysis and enhance/enrich the information content of your warehouse and providing on-demand spatial analysis.

    • Lab Exercise #4: Using DB2 Cube Views and web services
      Create relational star structures and supporting Materialized Query Tables and demonstrate performance gains as well as architectural options by publishing OLAP queries as a web service.

    • Lab Exercise #5: Using Map Intelligence
      Create a BI dashboard that integrates traditional charts and data with spatial data and maps. Also, use the Map Intelligence server and Excel data to generate spatial maps and analysis within Excel itself.
